The FBI is seeking help identifying a woman who was allegedly raped near Maupin about 15 years ago by an accused serial killer who committed suicide in an Alaska jail last weekend.  Israel Keyes told FBI agents before he killed himself that he had raped, but did not kill, his first victim on the Deschutes River near Maupin sometime between 1996 and 1998.  Keyes says he was able to discreetly separate the woman, who was between 14 and 18 years old at the time, from her friends.  Authorities have been unable to find police reports fitting that description, and it is possible the victim never reported it.  If Keyes was being accurate about the time period and the woman's age, she would now be in her late 20's or early 30's.  Anyone who might have information about the case is asked to call the FBI in Portland at 503-224-4181, in Bend at 541-389-1202, or the national hotline at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
