Hood River Holidays Friday; Cascade Locks Festival Of Lights Sunday
Holiday festivities underway.
The kick-off of the Hood River Holidays celebration will begin Friday evening. Last year marked the first winter where the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce actively marketed the city as the "Holiday Town of Oregon." Chamber Executive Director Kerry Cobb says they had success, and will look to build on that this year. Friday evening's festivities include a parade through downtown Hood River at 6 p.m., followed by lighting of the City's Christmas Tree at Overlook Memorial Park, and caroling on Second and Oak at 7:15 p.m. Free parking will be available downtown beginning at four. Meanwhile, the annual Festival of Lights in Cascade Locks is scheduled for Sunday evening, with Santa arriving on a fire truck over the Bridge of the Gods between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
