A 56-year-old Home Valley man facing rape and kidnapping charges made a brief appearance by video hookup in Hood River Circuit Court on Thursday morning.  Donald Stuart McAndie has been indicted on first degree rape, kidnapping, unlawful sexual penetration, and sexual abuse charges.  In the indictment, McAndie is accused of secretly confining an adult woman in a place where she was not likely to be found and forcibly subjecting her to sexual acts.  The Hood River County District Attorney's office has not released any further details on the allegations.  McAndie did not speak during the brief proceeding.  His attorney, Jan Wyers, told Judge Paul Crowley he would be filing paperwork for a bail hearing, tentatively planned for December 4.  McAndie is currently lodged at NORCOR.
