FISH Food Bank Begins Fundraising Push
Looking to raise another $150,000 by January 15.
Organizers of the fundraising drive to build a new facility for FISH Food Bank in Hood River County are planning a big push over the holidays. They have raised over $225,000 to date, and Chuck Bugge says they want to raise another $150,000 by January 15. That would push fundraising to a point where the organization can begin to seek large grants. To make the facility on property located on Tucker Road near Our Redeemer Lutheran Church a reality, FISH needs to raise $970,000. For information on how to donate, go on-line to fish-food-bank.com. On Thursday, FISH will benefit from the "Empty Bowls" dinner at the Hood River Middle School cafeteria, with diners enjoying a soup meal and taking home a bowl made by middle and high school students. The event begins at 6:30 Thursday evening, with tickets $30 and available at Waucoma Bookstore.
