Health District Continues Separation Process

More still to do.

The process to separate out the North Central Public Health District from Wasco County is continuing.  Wasco, Sherman, and Gilliam counties make up the district, and after three years of operations there is an effort to help it further stand on its own.  Wasco County Commissioner Sherry Holliday says the work is going fairly smoothly, but there is more to do.  A commissioner from each of the three counties along with medical professionals and laypeople make up the nine-member district board.  Holliday noted there would be no changes in how the district is funded...with monies continue to flow from the three counties to the district.
