The Columbia Gorge Health Council has received its official notice from the state that it can begin as the Community Care Organization for Wasco, Hood River, and Sherman counties on November 1.  It's plans for serving Oregon Health Plan members had been pre-approved earlier.  Hood River County Commissioner Karen Joplin is a part of the Columbia Gorge Health Council board that will be working with PacificSource to administer the C-C-O.  She says the goal is for local providers to work collaboratively in delivering services to Health Plan members.  Joplin notes they are adding members to the board, including community at-large members, a primary care physician, and a behavioral health services provider.
