The Dalles Council Looking For Options On Infill Development
Second workshop scheduled for mid-November.
The Dalles City Council is asking municipal staff for more options to deal with infill residential development on under-improved streets. City Manager Nolan Young says staff has been asked to do further research on when street assessments for future improvements should be assessed. Young notes with a restricted Urban Growth Boundary, properties that had not been developed in the past are beginning to be built on, and on both ends of the City larger lots are being divided to be sold. Making sure the appropriate people pay for street improvements as growth occurs is a big part of this discussion. Another Council worksession on the topic is planned for mid-November.
